EDITORIAL: Sweetie, don’t be ashamed. Get help for whatever happened or is happening to you. If you’re being abused, take charge and speak out. This outburst came from somewhere. That stuff doesn’t just appear because you mixed wine and a drug. Mixing wine and drugs makes things come out that are normally held in.
What does Hollywood do to all these young women as they are forced to grow up in the wicked ways of predators and pedophiles in order to practice their art? Where did these statements come from? Only Selma can answer those questions but we can only imagine what she has been through in order to survive in entertainment. These child stars have had no protection in this industry of sexual carnivores. The secrets being held most likely seem insurmountable to them all.
I want to note here that I removed this article’s ‘More’ headlines, complete with links, because, at the very least, they were of poor taste, especially under the circumstances. More likely, though, is that they felt to me like a specific spin was made to sensationalize this story into drug abuse and celebrity irrational behavior which causes me to wonder why they’re downplaying the more obvious story…where did this talk of abuse come from? Is Selma Blair in danger or was she horribly abused by someone in her past? Instead, they attempt to discredit statements she might make by linking her story directly to druggies, rehab and freakout stories? This creates a preconceived notion in people’s minds. An obvious spin method.
Selma’s definitely entitled to her privacy but if there’s someone in Hollywood or otherwise in power, who has abused her and is still in a position to hurt others, it’s time to expose the bastard, bastards, networks, whatever. It’s time for these women to start protecting each other. It’s time to stop them from creating more victims. Not talking about what was said here is not going to make those statement go away. Not on my watch!
To stay silent is to become a participant in the victimization of those who come after you!
Selma Blair Breaks Silence After Plane Incident: ‘I Am a Flawed Human … Filled With Shame’
“I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret,” the actress shared. “My son was with his dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace. I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath. I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”
As previously reported by Us Weekly, Blair was taken off a Delta airlines flight on a stretcher after a midflight outburst while en route from Cancun, Mexico, to LAX on Monday. The American Crime Story star spent Father’s Day with her ex, Jason Bleick, and their son, Arthur, in Cancun.
According to TMZ, Blair was seen mixing something in her wine and then crying about an unidentified man. “He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink,” she allegedly said. “He beats me. He’s going to kill me.”
Two nurses onboard the flight helped the actress by giving her oxygen to calm her down before she was taken to a nearby hospital.
Prior to the incident, an eyewitness told Us that Blair seemed to be in good spirits while vacationing with her ex and their son. “Selma seemed happy and healthy all weekend,” the source told Us.
